ABOUT
I’ve learned through experience, that people remember pictures long after they’ve forgotten words.
– Bill Strickland –
Born in Hungary, Arpad completed his high school studies there: his core subjects were Technical Drawing and History of Art. Meanwhile, he also took up an after-school course in Photography, his first step in learning the art of picture taking. In 2002 he moved to London to further his studies, where he later graduated from London Metropolitan University in Film Studies. He took up photography again in 2005 and started to develop a portfolio of fine art style landscapes and cityscapes.
Studies of Technical Drawing have had a lasting effect on Arpad’s photographic style. His compositions often have a very structured, geometrical quality. When taking pictures, he seeks out patterns and symmetry in carefully planned compositions of both nature and architecture. He believes that inspiration can be found not only in photography, but in other visual art forms as well. Motion picture is also in part about composing images to convey information, and many film makers do just that without relying heavily on dialogue. Animation, graphic novels, movies, paintings, drawings are all important sources of ideas once one’s eyes make the transition from simply responding to the surrounding world to the constant creative search for composition and image.
